The small things

Although I am back home, I still have a few stories to share. One in particular was the day we could hear voices of children through our hotel window. We anxiously looked out the window to get a glimpse of the joy. We could see nothing but metal roofing. We decide we would go and find them. As we walked out our hotel, little did we know there was a school a few doors down letting out. We were armed with candy, bubbles, chalk and a few other goodies. The children gathered around to see what we had. It was amazing to see the joy they received in these small trinkets. We interacted with smiles, waves and the famous peace sign. Some team members played Vietnamese hackey sac with some of the local children in front of the hotel. What fun! Nothing fancy or expensive, but a reminder of how I take things for granted. A reminder of the simple things, to slow down, to enjoy what God has given me, to be content, to give and to be a light in this dark world.
