Thank you!

I want to say thanks to all that supported financially and prayerfully. God is good and he provides. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be pulled out of my comfort zone and stretched. This is an experience I will never forget and hopefully will have the chance to go back. I have a new perspective on many things. I am blessed beyond belief and I want God to use me and what I have to show his love. I would encourage you to take a step of faith and create a journey of your own. I will leave you with some memorable pics from the trip.............

See ya later

The day to leave approached quickly. We all had mixed emotions. Each one of us attached to new friends, ones we wanted to bring home and share with our families. The kiddos were dressed in their finest. The small girls in tutu onseies that were donated from the states by a rockwall parent. We prayed together and exchanged gifts. They provided us with a small token of appreciation and we were able to provide the caregivers, nuns and student nuns a goodie bag of American favorites. Yes, chocolate for sure! Every sister needs some:)

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare [1] and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29:11

The small things

Although I am back home, I still have a few stories to share. One in particular was the day we could hear voices of children through our hotel window. We anxiously looked out the window to get a glimpse of the joy. We could see nothing but metal roofing. We decide we would go and find them. As we walked out our hotel, little did we know there was a school a few doors down letting out. We were armed with candy, bubbles, chalk and a few other goodies. The children gathered around to see what we had. It was amazing to see the joy they received in these small trinkets. We interacted with smiles, waves and the famous peace sign. Some team members played Vietnamese hackey sac with some of the local children in front of the hotel. What fun! Nothing fancy or expensive, but a reminder of how I take things for granted. A reminder of the simple things, to slow down, to enjoy what God has given me, to be content, to give and to be a light in this dark world.
